Enya Patterson
Research Coordinator
Educational background
I received my Bachelor’s of Science (Honours) with a major in Life Sciences from Queen’s University and am finishing up my Master’s of Public Health with Brock University.
My past accomplishments
Some of my most fulfilling work began during my time with Queen’s Students for Literacy, where I had the opportunity to tutor and support marginalized populations in the Kingston community, including incarcerated individuals, women in halfway homes, and children in refugee centers. I eventually stepped into the role of Director and was able to help expand the program’s outreach to include more shelters across the region. In parallel, I began research with the John Howard Society, an organization dedicated to prison reform, reintegration and reducing recidivism. After completing my undergrad, I worked at a clinical trial centre specializing in Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia where I supported participants throughout their involvement in research trials.
When I feel most inspired
When I’m supporting work that prioritizes equity and accessibility, especially in environments where I’m surrounded by people who are equally passionate about creating meaningful, inclusive change.
A few of my favourite things
Dogs, hockey and going to concerts with my friends!
